What's New

March 2001

Uhm, well... still preoccupied with the teaching and the ponies, I guess! I have two foals coming this May, so that should be fun. But I don't know if I'll ever get around to updating this web site, alas...

August 2000

All my attention now seems to be focused on the Good Horse Ranch, both the web site and the real thing, so my poor little personal site is suffering from neglect! Maybe one day I'll update it. Meanwhile, check out my newest equine venture: Camairyn Connemaras.

April 2000

I must've been "temporarily insane" the day I agreed to teach FIVE classes this semester. That's nearly 100 students! Until I crawl out from under the weight of drafts to review and papers to grade, I won't be making too many updates to the web site, but I will try to upload photos of Kelly's foal as soon as it's born! (which should be any minute now -- she's actually a week overdue) Thank goodness for digital cameras...

February 2000

We're in! At long last, my partner and all our critters have moved into the new place. Well, we started moving in right after Thanksgiving, but only now is it starting to feel like home. Of course we're still not finished with the contractors. Do contractors ever really finish a job? One wonders!

If you'd like to see some random photos, taken with my new digital camera, check out this directory.

Micky is my newest dog, a 7lb chihuahua who is, in the words of my partner, "so ugly he's cute." I rescued him from the shelter because he was deemed "too aggressive" to adopt. I think he was just holding out for the softest lap!

November 1999

The arena is finished! And the house is almost there. Check out the new construction photos on the Good Horse Ranch site.

Also new: George photos! The cutest Chihuahua in Colorado, and no, he speaks not a word of Spanish...

September 1999

We're still building... At this point, the indoor arena is scheduled for completion in late September, the house by November. But I've stopped holding my breath. All contractors should be forced to live in temporary housing for a few months, just to put things in perpsective.

What's really new: I got a job!!! Two of them, to be exact. I'm teaching ENG 121: Introduction to College Composition at Front Range Community College, and UWRP 3040: Writing on Business and Society at CU Boulder. So far, so good (although my partner migh think otherwise -- I'm always busy working now!)

June 1999

Jigsaw's pregnant!! Due next May, a lovely little half Paint, half Connemara Jiggy-baby. Check out the way cute dad, Kerrymor Madison.

May 1999

I got a new horse! The lovely Bailey's Bearded Lady.

April 1999

Well, not much is new at the moment, except that I've run my pages through the nifty tools at NetMechanic, so hopefully that's eliminated most if not all spelling, bad link and incorrect HTML problems! (Not that there were many, mind you... ;-) I'm still working on getting a house built on my property. Takes SO DANG LONG. Here's some photos of the land. Have been toying around with some ideas for a whole new re-design for the site. If it stays rainy and muddy for a while longer, I might actually get around to implementing those ideas!

February 1999

The big news is... I just became a landowner!! After five months of searching, I finally located the perfect spot for building the horse farm of my dreams. Forty beautiful acres of rolling pasture nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in north Loveland, Colorado. Now if this mild winter keeps up, I might just be able to start building this month! Photos coming soon!

And more updates to the site, as I've been promising for a while now. Hey, while you're at it, why not check out the web site I just built for the horse trainer I work with?

November 1998

Wondering where I've been? Well, I'm just now getting around to explaining, so keep checking back for new materia! I'll add new text to every section, and will hopefully get around to remodeling the Photo Album and Fan Club sections before Christmas! The big news is: I GOT A HORSE!!!

Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention this. I've given a few of the lesbian lists I used to run over to new management, and started a few more, so check this page if you're looking for Lesbian Discussion Groups.

June 1998

If you've been here before, I should note: the only parts I'm likely to update on a regular basis are: the boookshelf, OTR (my travels), and Read My Mind. I'd like to add a section in the Fan Club for "smart mails," and also for book recommendations, but it'll be a few months before I get around to that!

April 1998

Everything's new!!! Well, not exactly... Most of the text is new, but the graphics are the same. What can I say? You do something right the first time, ya don't gotta keep messin' with it! Besides, making groovy grafix in Photoshop isn't so easy on a Powerbook screen.

Please take some time to look over the new stuff and let me know what you think! I've added two new sections: Amy OTR, to chronicle my travels across this fine country, and Read My Mind, to chronicle the inner journeys. I also deleted the exit page and the automated feedback form, and consolidated the Anti-Fan and Stupid Email pages into Amy's Fan Club. Enjoy!

March 1998

Amy's Obsession turns 3 years old this month! Unfortunately, all those revisions I was trying to get done in time are still laying around half-baked. Here's hoping for April!

February 1998

Hey, I thought I put an October 1997 update in here, all about the cross-country trip my girlfriend and I took last fall, but it seems to have disappeared! Ah, the agonies of keeping up a web site. I've just moved Lesbian.org over to a new server and am moving Amy's Obsession back over to it's original server so things are kinda messy right now. The big news: I'm living on the road full time!! Yeehaw! Er, or, I will be, as soon as I pick up my travel trailer. First stop: a women-only RV park in Apache Junction, AZ. How cool is that? And coming soon: a totally new, totally fabulous, complete revision of this web site!! Just what you've all been waiting for: NEW STUFF!!! Provided I don't get too wrapped up in the nomadic life, of course...

September 1997

Check it out! I have my very own anti-Fan! Who needs fan mail... This is far more fun. Though also fun is weeding through a new batch of highly literate stupid email!!

August 1997

I'm back from a delightful trek through Europe and the UK but am now swamped with catch-up work -- but I hope to get around to some site revisions this September, including a full length version of my oh-so-exciting travel journal! Meanwhile, content yourselves with the vanity photos noted below, or with the brand new: Flowering Wimsey Page!

June 1997

Oy. I'm having a hard time keeping up! And I'm about to head off to Europe for a while, but when I get back I promise I'll update this web site rather thoroughly! For the moment, what's new is mainly that I've moved stuff around quite a bit, so I'm glad you found me! Took everything relating to Amy's Obsession off of lesbian.org, to lighten the load on that site, which keeps hitting its bandwidth limits, and moved it over here to my wodesigns.com site, which used to host information about my web design business, but as I'm no longer in the biz, it's just for fun now! More to come, I promise! In the meanwhile, check out this directory full of some recent QuickCam pix!

August 1996

The site gets yet another complete redesign: new graphics, new layout, new navigational system and new content! Rather than working to achieve a consistent theme throughout, each part of the site takes on its own, distinct look. I had a lot of fun creating the different parts, and I think they all demonstrate the different web design styles I'm capable of! Although I should add that I'm still not quite finished, and not quite happy yet with all of them (like this page). But what's the point of being obsessed if you can't keep changing   things?

May 1996

Another redesign, including the addition of an interactive guestbook and the re-installment of the picture gallery. This redesign got a lot of rave reviews, although some felt the red on black combo was a bit "much," especially since I used it so often! And I agreed, though I didn't really have time then to work on it.

September 1995

My first attempt at learning Photoshop! I played with my favorite texture, dark green marble, to achieve a marble diamond pattern for the background. I simplified the site considerably, reducing the home page to a choice of six buttons, but found that my traffic went down considerably as a result, b/c those six buttons were graphically too large!

March 1995

Amy's Obsession first sees the light of day! This was my first attempt at a home page, and it was designed to offer information on Women Online, lesbian information on the internet, the mailing lists I run (about 8 at the time), and of course me personally. I've since needed to branch those interests off into their own web sites!
